Gasthaus Bischenberg in Sasbachwalden

Interesting to see how the chocolate is decorated and refined in the mold.

The dishes in the Bischenberg are delicious and nicely prepared for the eye. The staff is very nice and the prices are reasonable.

Well located for a stopover on a hike in and around the beautiful Saschwalle. Unfortunately, we don't find the price-performance ratio quite right. A piece of Black Forest cake with iced coffee 10 euros is already borderline, especially since the Black Forest would have significant potential upwards. This was already very disappointing for us. Unfortunately, kirsch could not be tasted.

The cakes are good and the service very pleasant. Very nice view outside and possibility of being on the terrace. On the other hand, the state of the toilets was unacceptable this afternoon: Dirty and badly smelling, which is why I am removing 1 star.

Reasonable prices, food good. I personally didn't like the pils very much but others in our party enjoyed their drinks.

The restaurant comes highly recommended. The hospitality is extremely friendly and attentive, the view is wonderful (if you have one), food and drinks round off the pleasant experience. We spent a lovely time there. We can particularly recommend the Black Forest cake, where you can taste the love that is put into every chocolate bar. We'd love to come back, even just to eat cake: D

Tarte flambée and burger good, if not exactly cheap. A small salad with the burger would have been nice. Service good. Overall recommendable.

We were completely satisfied. Went there to eat after a hike. Everything went very quickly and everything was delicious.

All dishes are also gluten-free. That is fabulous even if I don't have to rely on it myself, people like that are really happy! The food tastes good and the manageable menu is enhanced with a very good drinks menu.

We ate in the restaurant on the terrace, it was delicious and the fantastic view over the Rhine valley! The visit was worth it.

Very good food (also gluten-free), very friendly service. Ideal to stop off after a nice hike (e.g. Gaishöll waterfalls). There is plenty of parking space, the surroundings are really nice. Oh yes: the chocolate from there is highly recommended! Delicious!!!

Very friendly staff, great food, all dishes are also offered gluten-free, including a gluten-free cake. Coffee was a bit thin, but that's a matter of taste. Plenty of parking, great area and views. Also suitable to buy small souvenirs (chocolate factory, self-made products ...)

Delicious food, very friendly staff. All Corona hygiene regulations are observed in an exemplary manner. Perfect to stop off for a nice hike around Sasbachwalden. Definitely reserve in advance! 👍

Nice gasthaus with a good restaurant. We have eaten a delicious tasty schwarzwaldkirschtorte. There was also a small Christmas market with nice stalls. The view over the rein valley is also amazing from this village. A nice stop when you drive around by car.

High up in the Black Mountains, this place has views and an extensive menu. Pleanty of vegitarian options as well. We spent a pleasant evening, enjoying the food and views. Getting there is also appitite building.

Essen so lala.

We came here because of some reviews of the Black Forest cake. Our intention was to stop for cake and tea but after looking at the menus we decided to dabble in a little savoury delight. Upon first glanced at the menu we found the prices to be totally reasonable. However once our meals arrived we were blown away. We each ordered a “side” portion of Spätzle for less than we paid in Freiburg and the portion was plentiful not to mention totally delicious. It was served in some sort of lovely roast meat broth and was much better than what we had tried elsewhere. For our entree we ordered the smaller portion of Schnitzel and were blown away when each of us met face to face with TWO of the most delicious, moist and flavourful pieces of meat we’ve encountered in Germany yet. I’ll be honest, the Black Forest cake is perfectly adequate, but nothing I would recommend driving well out of your way for, however I would totally recommend stopping here for dinner if you’re in the area! The patio outside is lovely and afforded us a beautiful sunset meal with a great view. Over all the food is top quality delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely eat here again.

Very nice site just at the end of the Gaishöll waterfall. Very good food and eye with the quantities that are important. Site highly recommended.

Had excellent Black Forest cake in the middle of Black Forest. While we only ate at the restaurant (and did not stay there), the food was really good and staff was very friendly and kind. There is a small play area for kids, which our daughter really enjoyed. The menu was extensive and the prices were very reasonable. I plan to stay here next time. What a lovely sanctuary in the middle of the forest..... and a wonderful mountain location!

Beutiful place, view, mountains, deer's walking around, tasty food, spa for your soul. Place worth to go :)
